Jamie's Italian Singapore

Met up with Jose on Monday for lunch and we settled at Jamie's Italian. I heard that if anyone would to dine in the restaurant during lunch or dinner hour, one definitely would have to queue. In addition, I heard that the restaurant even rejected reservation orders. Just imagine how overwhelming it is. Lucky for us, we went there just as the lunch crowds were gone, so no queue for us!

But the restaurant was still pretty as packed

These few tables were occupied shortly

Italian bread selection

Prawn linguine

Tagliatelle bolognese

Creamy panna cotta

Surely one ought to try their pasta when dining on a Italian restaurant? Further, they handmade their pastas from scratch! For their pastas, basically they serve them in 2 sizes; the appetizer size or the main course size. That's was what I found when I researched on before I stepped into the restaurant. But when I was dining in there, the waitress actually told me their 2 sizes are namely; a person serving of 2 persons servings. Oh well. Anyway, the pasta portion was kind of small for the appetizer/ a serving size. That means you can order more food, and try a greater varieties of food. That is great too! Total bill came up to around $58, which is pretty affordable. Personally I love the panna cotta, its really awesome! Pastas dishes were good too. Definitely would head back and try other dishes. And I caught an eye of the wild truffle risotto. That would be my pick for my next visit!

After our lunch, we went walking, shopping around the mall. But we were bored of it in a while. Knowing that I have yet to even step into RWS, Jose suggested we should head there to walk around, chill and settled our dinner over there. Ya, I'm a noob! There's actually quite a few places I have yet to went to in Singapore. Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay, USS, RWS, Sea Aquarium, Night Safari, River Safari. Aiya! I think you should get how noob I am now or would even question if I'm a Singaporean? Do I want to head over to all these tourist attractions? Sure I do! But with the right company of course.

Anyway, here are a few snapshots I captured:

The above shot doesn't look like Singapore right? Perhaps, it due to the bare tree or the hotel Michael at the background.

And here's my tourist shot. Ps, its a dress-down Monday for me. My hair looked like I just rolled out of my bed (which I really did!) haha

And another tourist not-so-ready shot of me

A friendly passer-by for which we spotted while we were having our dinner

So did I went to USS? Of course not! It was already near 5pm when I got there. I don't think I'm gonna have enough time to try those rides. Plus my outfits? It surely doesn't look very right! And thus after our dinner, we headed over to Tanjong beach club. And guess what? While we were at there at around 830, it was closed. Maybe it doesn't even operate on a Monday. Thus we ended up sitting on a pavilion. I know right? How romantic it is for 2 girls to sit there, by the beach, with very bad dark lightings, nearly deserted area. It would be scary if we didn't play our own music. Actually, come to think of it, having a mini retreat; lets suppose 2 days 1 night staycation at RWS or Sentosa would be great. I would spend my first day just lazing around in the hotel and would ignite the child/tourist within me on the second day to visit on those tourist attractions. Hm, not bad a plan right? It would be great if someone would have planned it for me! Haha, I'm just wishing too much.

It was a long day for us. Halfway though in RW, we were tired. Age is definitely catching on us! It doesn't matter if one is fits or not. Ya, I have not been running ever since my last marathon which was in February or something. I can't run that much! Firstly, its giving my knee problem (mild case actually, I could do a short run or maybe just wear my knee guard). However one thing for sure, running makes me lose weight. Not at the right places of course. Ok la, actually not really. The last time I weight myself which was maybe beginning of July, I think I weigh 44kg! Seriously, what have I been doing! So not healthy, i don't even think I weigh that less during my sec 4! But I think I have those weights gained back by now. I have been supper-ing so so much! And its like an everyday thing. Tsk. Not healthy. I have to learn to cut down on that. And lastly, I'm lazy to exercise, I have to admit. Haha. But I do miss the feeling of sweating it all out. Hmm. I will give further thoughts on that if I should revert back to my 'healthy' lifestyle.

Post Salon Visit

Its been 3 weeks after my salon visit. I did 3 things to my hair and most of my friends couldn't notice any of the differences. Except for my buddy. He could name out 2 of them! Is it because he's a guy and he's more attentive? Oh well! I was saying in my previous posts that I wanted to dye my hair to a lighter color, ash brown to be exact but my hairstylist didn't recommend me to do so as I have to bleach my hair. My hair is already bad enough. I started to damage my hair since I was 12; I rebonded my hair every year during my secondary school days. Thus I had no choice, but to stick with the safe, common brown hair. Does it seems not much of a difference compared to my previous hair color? Do you think you could spot the changes I made to my hair?

Baby Kane baby shower

This post is a couple of weeks late. Attended Julia's brother's baby, baby shower back then. I completely forgotten till SG and Julia reminded me a day before the baby shower as I was kind of busy and I ended up attending there empty-handed. Tsk! But I did manage to get Baby Kane something later at night and got Julia to pass it to his brother. Didn't manage to capture a picture of what I got but yup, I got a baby romper and a 2 pairs of socks from H&M. Personally, I find shopping for baby enjoyable. I could just go on and on. And No, I didn't ignite the Mothers' instinct within me and neither do I want a baby of my own (I'm still young further I'm not attached) I just find it a joy to buy stuffs for a newborn baby.

Here are a few pictures for which I took on the day itself:

The star of the day; Baby Kane

Don't the above pictures look like Julia and KQ are the parents of baby Kane. Hahaha, I think they are ready for that but whats lacking now is just a marriage certificate and their house (which is on BTO)

Sigh to my heavy eyebags which makes me look like I have not slept for months

The life of a baby; eat, sleep, eat, sleep. It kind of looks like the life I'm leading of now. Hahaha

OOTD, when polka dots meet stripes

"Today I don't feel like doing anything. I just wanna lay in my bed. Don't feel like picking up my phone, so leave a message at the tone. Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything, nothing at all."

Bruno Mars-The Lazy Song would best describe my week now. The above song lyrics are exactly what I have been 'doing'. But I shouldn't be feeling so. There is something that I ought to look forward to, in a couple of days time but I haven't got myself going to complete it though theres merely a tiny bits left to touch on too. If it was in the past, all those stuffs would have been completed 1 or 2 weeks before the actual day. Oh well! I just have to tell myself, continue lazing around when I still get the chance to. Till the day when I land myself onto a job, I guess it would be tough for me to do so.

Night at Holland Village

Met up with Keith last week. Each time should any of my friends asked me where I would want to meet, HV is always my favorite choice. Firstly, its near my place (haha). Secondly its due to the night life. And lastly, I would always know what I want to have in there. No indecisiveness.

Settled as Three Crowns this time round instead of Wala (which is always my pick) as theres this promotion for which 3 pints of beer merely cost $28 nett

Fish and Chips and their portions are huge!

Fiery wings for which he had tummyache the next day. I actually dont feel that its really spicy. Perhaps its something I don't get as to why some would get tumyache too from eating McSpicy burger

My choice of beer. Had to admit I'm pretty manly in alcohol selection but my alcohol tolerance is still as weak

We aren't holding hands in this photo, its just the angle

After our dinner, we headed over to Häagen-dazs for deserts

Always never too full for desert. I ordered a slice of tiramisu on my own too!

And guess what? We didn't end our night yet. We ended up hopping to IndoChine for their 1-for-1 beer. A bit too much for me and I didn't finished my pint over there. I could hardly remember when was the last time I chill at HV. Its been quite a while.

Casual outfit for the night

School's been pretty slack. Out of the 6 days of oversea visit by the oversea lecturers, I attended less than 2. And my school would resume back in August again by the local lecturer. Just one more semester to hang on to and I'm done with it.

Teck's farewell dinner

Just last week, Teck planned a meetup with our clique before he left for studies in Switzerland for a year. He had a table booked at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao and treated all of us for dinner. Weird isn't he? Shouldn't we be the one treating him instead? Oh well!

Had my tummy rubbed before we entered to Xin Wang for desert right after our buffet dinner as we didn't want to drink

Heres me with my 3 months tummy! Ultra unglam as I was forced to pose. And I always get teased by them after a filling meal, but I can't control how 'pregnant' I looked.

Lesson gonna start 830am the next day and I'm still up. Dead! Speaking of school, I had 3 classes last week but I only turned up for the first lesson as I was freaking tired after my long day with my friends on Monday. Haha, excuses! I think I would turn up to school tomorrow if I could wake up via my bio-clock.

Earlier on, while I was having dinner, my phone got locked twice by an idiotic friend of mine! I couldn't used my phone for the past 3 hours! How annoying! I just refused to give my password away as the contents in my phone are so dear to me. Till now, I could only rest assured to pass my phone to just 1 of my friends. The most, I would pass it to another one should he want to see. To the rest, no chance to touch my phone. I rather had my phone locked then to let my password be known and let whoever view it at his/her own pleasure. Its just privacy I would want to keep. And another thing! Just as I were to leave my home for dinner, my brother brought a couple of his friends home into my room. And their friends automatically rest on my bed. Gawd! That's something I couldn't stand. I would NEVER allow any other person to sleep or rest on my bed. Not to friends or siblings or whosoever. Luckily, my brother asked his friends to rest on my sister's bed instead. It could be a fetish of mine but I would only rest on my bed after I bathed when I get back home. A clean freak you might say? But I just cant stand anyone sitting or laying on my bed! With just an exception to my love ones. Haha, I'm just that biased. So, I'm not really exactly counted as a clean freak isnt that so?

Convocation 2013

Attended a couple of my besties convocation last week. Felt really happy for them that they are finally done with their studies. No more lessons, tutorials, assignments, exam. I still have 1 last semester to go. Within my clique, the prospect of my future work is still unknown. Sok Gin, Kai Lin, Julia had each secured a job but for me? Guess I should really spend some time thinking what I really want. I did think of being an entrepreneur but is it too ambitious for me to start up a business with zero knowledge and almost zero working experience? Hmm. Perhaps spending a couple of years working outside would seem to be a wiser choice?

Anyway, here are the pictures. But pardon me for spamming the below pictures. I had ignited the child within me that very day! Hahaha

Isn't the bear I got for Kai Lin adorable?

My arm candy for the day. That's exactly how I looked like when I headed out which resulted to lots of stares from others especially kids! Haha

Kai Lin

And the very next day, I attended Sok Gin's convocation:

All those in red robes are the doctors-to-be

Looked at the face she gave us while she made us waited outside UCC for 20 minutes! But its okay, she was busy taking pictures with her classmates.

The must-have shot when one graduates

Here's one with Sok Gin

And another one with Julia

Plus our group

We're glad Sok Gin love the present we got for her. No soft toys nor flowers (as she fancies none of those), just something practical which suits her very much.
