Whats Love?

Love isn't about big fanciful gestures like getting expensive gifts for each other, dining at posh restaurants all the times. For me, love can be felt in our daily life; Morning text, Goodnight call, Giving her a bear hug when standing on the escalator, Holding her hands especially when crossing the road, Remembering tiny details about each other, Appreciating each other, Telling each other sweet heartfelt words, Letting each other knows when they are missed, Cuddling each other to bed, Giving her a morning/goodnight kiss etc. Love is actually that simple.

In special occasion, reserving the date and spending the entire night with her, along with a pre-planned date for dinner etc and dressing up for each others, getting her gifts are all it takes that are needed for that special night. Thats my take. Of course, planning a getaway would be great too!

OOTD for last Friday when the PSI shot up to 400! I didn't get my hands on any masks as they are all OOS. Thus I substituted it by using a scarf instead.

And that was what was passed to me after I said I didn't have any masks and was already out. Though it was kind of useless (as what was told to me), but I really appreciate the kind thoughts.

Thats all it takes which make everything all worth it! (Polishing off all the food and words of appreciation) Love cooking for my love ones, I feel so much love too!

And whats your take of Love?

Grub @ Bishan Park

Headed over to Grub over the weekend. I would say it is pretty innovative to set up a cafe in a park. Though this cafe is barely 2 months old, but I have to say it sure did attract lots of customers. I went there for dinner and had to wait for > 20 minutes to get a seat as the cafe was all packed by 8pm.

My pick; Grub cheeseburger

Pan-seared King Salmon with Risotto

Belgium waffle with dark chocolate gelato

And they have pretty exotic unique beers too. Here is one of them!

Grub cafe serves pretty decent nice food. Though they do not offer much selection of dishes to choose from, but they are rather affortable. Further, one actually do not have to dress up that much since the cafe is located at the neighbourhood area (that's just my opinion though, haha).

And here is what I wore. Which resulted to me having 5 huge mosquitoes red itchy bites at the end of the night :( Seriously sucks to be me; mosquitoes prone. I rather have bruises rather than those bites!

And I wish I could run to you
And I hope you know that, every time I don't, I almost do"

Rajah Inn

And so SG had been a great help to me some times back (shan't reveal it soon) and thus I gave her a treat to a restaurant of her choice. Rajah Inn at Tiong Bahru was her pick and we had our lunch buffet there last week.

Basically, you just have to sit at your seats and they will serve you all the side dishes and steamboat ingredients that you ordered

And they have this counter for which you could pick up more sides if you like

Parts of our first picks of ingredients

 Free flows of Iced teas

And it comes with an individual pot of soup base for each of us where I chose the chicken soup base and SG chose the Ma La one. Total bill came up to <$50, pretty cheap considering we spent 3 hours in there and deserts were served to us too!

To the girl who has been an angel and devil to me at the same time

OOTD which I did it in just 5 minutes. Got changed and put on a pair of glasses to cover my bare face. This is actually pretty much how I look like if I travel nearby or when I'm out with my parents.

If I do have an extra time or when the weather is too humid, I would do a fishtail braid. All these done within 10 minutes.

Thoughts:
There's actually quite a fair bits that have been going on with me or around me. Its won't be easy to have it written down here and I won't want to reveal too much. Sometimes, I wonder, have I been too greedy? Touching my heart, I would reply a No. I even think that I'm not greedy at all but I am someone who is rather laid back instead. I take whatever that were given to me, I don't insist for an explanation if you do not want to and I do not even probe too much in things. During this time, you makes me wonder where I am being rank. 'See how' to me isn't a complete reply. A question could only ends with either a Yes or a No, Can or Cannot. See how is too vade as a reply. By making plans for one and the other party actually reply 'see how depends on my friends whether...'? I do not know how would others feel. But for me, its very saddening/demoralizing to hear that by making advance plans for someone you could not secure the date yet, but you have to depend on whoever or whatever that would/might be coming along.

All these while, I haven't been expecting much. And this year, I made a deliberate attempt to make an advance plan. I really want to do something on the actual day itself. But to know that I still could not secure the date just as yet, my heart really can't help but sank.

The BFFs @ Kith Cafe

And so the Ancients finally reunites. We are each busy with our own schedules and its really quite tough to arrange a gathering which consist of the 4 of us (in particular with Julia and KL who are both working). Just imagine that. From schooling phase to the working phase and now Julia recently got proposed and soon would get hitch! How can one not admits Old? I'm so so happy for my bff!

That aside, we met yesterday at Kith Cafe nested at Park Mall.

SG's duck breast sandwich

KL's bacon sandwich

Truffle fries to share

I ordered Carbonara. Its been such a long time since I ordered that as this just brought me bad memories of the one in Pastamania; which is way too creamy.

And I didn't capture what Julia ordered cause she was late and I was starving. The food there is really good in my opinion. Generous portions of food which caused us to be bloated at the end of the day. I had my main completed too. This pintpoint to 2 points. The food tastes great and my appetite is not small, its actually normal, just that I take quite a while to finish my meal. Haha.

KL and my face looks kind of distorted in this photo. I blame it on the bad lightings! Haha

Thus another snapshot to compensate

A new full length mirror at home in which I would certainly makes very good use of it! Haha

Ending off this post with a cheesy snapshot of myself (okay, that is some insider joke). Till then!

Pulau Ubin

Both SG and Joffre wanted to have another outing to Ubin and there we go again. I had forgotten how many times I had been to there but cycling is really a good workout (though I do not know how to cycle).

Got up early in the morning to meet Joffre at my place MRT. I do not remember when was the last time I woke up before 9 (except for school). This holiday really does makes me become lazier! Anyway, we took a train, a bus and a ferry to arrive to our destination. Its definitely a long journey! Something happened when we were at the foodcourt while we were having our breakfast before taking the ferry ride, shan't go on details onto that. Just my luck, I would say!

Embarking our journey:

The ferry ride which cost us $2.50 each. Pretty affordable I would say.

Something hilarious. We actually asked this auntie to take a picture for us, and after she took finished the photo, she actually commented that our picture looks dark. But when I took my phone from her, I saw this image in my phone. It turns out, she didn't actually capture a shot of us, but herself. Guess she was too quick to flip over my phone. This shot turns out to be our secret joke of the day, we couldn't stop laughing when we saw this photo. Sorry auntie, it was nice of her. But we just couldn't help ourselves.

Thus we took our picture ourselves. Didn't turn out to be as bad too.

And we reached!

The whole lots of bicycles for us to choose from

And here are our picks. As usual, I had to tandem with Joffre.

It was really sunny and humid on that day

And this guy secretly confessed to me that he actually deliberately made me fell on our previous trip. Agrh! But then again, I had to admit his skills are pretty good. Most importantly, he actually allows me not to pedal when I'm tired and during moments for which I couldn't keep up to his pace. Haha.

We headed over to Chek Jawa again as our stamina were failing (guess its because of age).

Map of Ubin

Basically for Chek Jawa, we had to park our bicycle and set our journey on foot

We caught sight on a family of wild boars

Beautiful serenity

We left the island after spending 4-5 hours in there. Just imagine how much we had worked out.

Based on our past experiences, we brought extra clothings to change and took a quick shower over at Ubin before heading out to have our dinner.

While waiting for Joffre to shop for his boots to bring over to his upcoming study trip. We don't look like we just got back from Ubin right? (beside the bare skin) Haha.

So SG reserved seats a Kushinbo at Suntec as there are a wider variety of food compared to the other outlets.

Our favourite: the teapot soup (we called it ourselves)

Wide variety of drinks to choose from: soft drinks, syrups, tea, coffees

And because we made a dinner reservation, we had each a serving of free lobster (we didn't know about this deal in advance). So, lucky us!

The desert platters I picked out

This guy was feeling unwell after cycling, he didn't ate much for dinner (so did we, guess its due to the intensive cycling which affect out appetites). He was secretly grumbling that the reason as to why he was feeling sick was because of Me (for he had to cycle the weight of 2)! Haha. Oh well! How mean! And he actually commented that I talked alot on that day, much of lamenting; about how hot the weather is, how much my butt hurts, the bruises I had etc. At least I'm much better than him okay, last year when I was in Thailand, he actually said that he couldn't feel his legs when we were at Chatuchak. Its merely the same amount of time we took at Ubin cycling compared to walking at Chatuchak?!

Unlike the other Ubin trips, we embarked our journey without Jerry who is now enjoying himself in Australia. Soon, it will be Joffre's turn. I guess this would be our last Ubin trip. There are actually much more photos that were taken but its with SG who was the photographer of the day. But if one would want to wait for her to upload the pictures, you really gotta slowly wait! So I ended the trip with just 7 bruises without any mosquito bites. Phew! Bruises are common for me, and no I didn't fell. It just appears to be on my body. During my daily life, its also common that I have bruises from (I dunno where?). Muddleheaded indeed.
