U run 2013

Sometimes, I do overestimate myself. I had to get myself ready and leave my place at 550am to catch the first train but I set my alarm at 540 thinking I could brush my teeth, wash up, change and put on my gears within that 10 minutes. In actual facts, I need more than 20 minutes to do all these! Anyway, I woke up early today for my first marathon of 2013.

We were early so we started the race rather on time this time round.

Waiting for flag off

And we started the race at 7am

Unlike the previous few runs that I had done, U run separates the route by using cones. Doesn't that means that runners could simply cross over the other route easily? But I seriously doubt anyone would do that.

Pay attention to this 'short' NTUC building

Cause my race did not end after I finishes 10km

I took part in the Run+Climb race. This mean that I have to climb 30 storeys worth of stairs before I could call an end to my race.

And we made it! To the top of the building! Climbing stairs is actually more tedious than running. Theres lots of runners that actually stop halfway and sit on the stairs. I myself nearly wanted to stop and take a break too. But I gritted my teeth and hang in to the Top. Yay!

Seriously messy hair. But I think one just couldn't be bothered that much in a run. Running is a state where one is most unglam in my opinion; perspire profusely, messy hair, wiping off sweats with own shirt, cleaning off mucus with shirt, spitting out phlegm, adjusting bra or shorts openly etc. Sorry for being gross but these are just some of the things I witnessed. But hey! Whatever. We run to meet our own expectation of our self, push our own limit, charity, not to look glamorous.

Clique and our third race together

From this map, I assume the climb is about 2km.

And cheers to my running companion for all 3 races. We stick, rest, joke together in all races and that makes our race indifferent; entertaining I would say.
