Bangkok trip with the girls- Part 1

Just 2 weeks back, I headed off on a trip with Julia, Sokgin and Alison (Julia's colleague). We took an afternoon flight, check in on hand-carry luggages and off we went.

My baggage was the lightest, it was 3.2kg I think

Checking into The Ecotel Bangkok

Lobby, the only area where it has wi-fi. Ya, the rooms don't come with wi-fi as it claims

Sokgin and I shared a room. I took the king-sized bed, while she took the single one. Point to take note, I'm not bullying her, i actually find my bed too huge for one. Its just... (haha, some secrets ought to be kept).

Slowly after we reached the hotel, Alison's student, Yes Student, she's 18 now, drove us to Jatujak Green night market. And I saw a striper once I dropped myself off the car, he merely cover his important part with a shirt. Hell gross! And unlucky me!

Hm, this night market sell mostly second-hand stuffs, not the type of things we tourists would want to get

They have quite a number of pubs nearby too!

And food stalls which resemble our local pasar-malam

Part of our dinner. Thai local delight; beef noodle, otah like stuff, braised pork rice, stir-fried pork etc

We spent our time there for a couple of hours and called it a night. We were too tired especially Sok gin who just finished her night shift the day before.

Day 2:

Got up early in the morning, had our free breakfast catered by the hotel and off we went with our expedition. Haha.

I dragged the girls with me and headed off to Paul's Fashion located right opposite Platinum mall. It was merely a 15-20 minutes walk from our hotel.

Blinded by the amount of fabrics I got to choose from

Its my first time choosing fabrics and I was lost for choice!

Spent a good 20 minutes in the shop while the girls sat outside waiting for me.

And I settled these fabrics in the end

Hopped onto a cab afterwhich and off we headed down to Chatuchak market. I know that my hair looks crazy! I can't find the hair dryer in the room. I only managed to find it on the last day, I know right! Blur me as usual!

Chatuchak

Friends. Hahaha

Pretty wedding invitation cards. Give Ms Julia some rough ideas on what her future invitation cards would be like.

Coconut ice-creams. Should have gotten those in coconut husk. They taste nicer in my impression.

'I must get this nautical dress!' Julia reaching out for it but couldn't. We got help from a strong tall singaporean guy who passed by and told us: 'Let me help you! Singaporean must help Singaporean ma' Hahaha. Thank you kind soul!

Didn't get lots of stuffs in Chatuchak this time round as compared to the previous. I merely got 3 items I believe! I know right?! How could it be true, especially for me? Well, we headed off to Union mall after which. The mall stuffs is actually more 'expensive'. In the sense that, its comparable to the stuffs sold in Bugis street. $20 average. I actually saw quite a number of items I believed I would get. But the girls advised me not to do so as we would be heading down to Platinum mall the next day. Oh well.

Headed back to the hotel and once we settled down in the lobby, we received news from kins and friends that Thailand is quite chaotic. It really is! But not as exaggerating as what is posted on the news. Hm, maybe its true. Only to that certain parts in Bangkok. However, Thai government did advise public not to head out at night. So the obedient us, stay tight in the hotel that very night. How 'lucky' of us!

And thank you all my friends who ask me to stay safe. Appreciate all you guys concern, sincerely! Till part 2 post.

Thoughts

My new day-to-day blogging platform:

This blog will still exist of course, just that I created a dayre account to allow myself to blog in bite sized. Well, we'll see if I'm able to blog in Dayre everyday then.

I'll be the one if you want me to,
Anywhere, I would've followed you,
Say something, I'm giving up on you"

D' Good Café

Because my flight back to Singapore was the day before I planned to meet up with my poly girls, I was actually thinking of cancelling the meet up session. Okay, thats really mean of me. But that was because I merely slept for less than 4 hours each day when I was in Bkk. Will go onto that on my next post.

Anyway, I'm glad that I didn't cancel the girls and they sort of compromised me by meeting me at D' Good Café. I suggested the place as this cafe is located near my place. I know. Lazy me!

The cafe is located at level 2 and 3. You can choose to take a lift like we did, but be prepared to wait as the lift work the same as those in landed property house; slow and the maximum capacity for each trip is merely 4 person

And its always iced chocolate for myself!

Meatball Marinara for myself too. Thought the portions look small and I was thinking to order a desert afterwhich, but it was actually quite filling when I polished my pasta and drinks off!

And a portion of Egg Benedict each for the girls

And, we next proceed to level 3 of the cafe:

There's an outdoor seating area and an indoor seating area at level 3

But fret not, theres a tent in the outdoor area which I'm glad as we don't have to deal directly with the sun

And we went back to the indoor (level3):

Brought a teddy to seat beside me. I know there's secretly a child that lives within me. But hey, never too old for teddy okay?

For some of the pictures, I grabbed them from SY who went round capturing the photos or from the net. Feeling lazy and tired on that day. So, till my next post? I should prolly be blogging about my trip to Bkk.

We watched the day go by, stories of all we did,
It made me think of you, it made me think of you"

Thoughts

"Turn down the lights, turn down the bed,
Turn down the voices inside my head,
Lay down with me, tell me no lies,
Just hold me close, don't patronize, don't patronize me

Cause I can't make you love me if you don't,
You can't make your heart feel something it won't,
Here in the dark, in these final hours,
I will lay down my heart and I'll feel the power
But you won't, no you won't
'Cause I can't make you love me, if you don't

I'll close my eyes, then I won't see,
The love you don't feel when you are holding me,
Morning will come and I'll do what's right,
Just give me till then and to give up this fight,
And I'll give up this fight"
