Poulet at Vivocity

Tuesday, I had a great time spent with kl too! Non-stop talking plus retail therapy session. Guess that less than 12 hours apart during our birth explain why we click so well. Haha. Anyway, our plan was to dine at Max Brenner @Vivocity for lunch. But coincidentally, it is close for renovation! So we settled at Poulet in the end. Anyway, I always wanted to try their truffle mashed potato. And yay! I finally got a chance to do so now!

We shared half a chicken, mashed potato and a banana bread and butter pudding! I was famished and I felt glad that these food satisfy our tummies :) The food are really good btw!

Has my hair grew longer? Its only been 2 weeks after my last haircut! Hm, perhaps that could be an illusion as I used a hair straightener to tidy my messy hair

And my damage of the day! Sigh! But I am happy with all my buys :)

Recently, I realised I had been attacked by mosquitoes! Is it just me or what? I could say I had nearly 10 of them on both my legs! Agrh! Why am I so pron of being bitten. If only there is someone as pron as me and is sleeping next to me to share his/her blood to the starving mosquitoes at my areas. Alright, I kid. Too much nonsense going on for me tonight.

D' Good Café

Because my flight back to Singapore was the day before I planned to meet up with my poly girls, I was actually thinking of cancelling the meet up session. Okay, thats really mean of me. But that was because I merely slept for less than 4 hours each day when I was in Bkk. Will go onto that on my next post.

Anyway, I'm glad that I didn't cancel the girls and they sort of compromised me by meeting me at D' Good Café. I suggested the place as this cafe is located near my place. I know. Lazy me!

The cafe is located at level 2 and 3. You can choose to take a lift like we did, but be prepared to wait as the lift work the same as those in landed property house; slow and the maximum capacity for each trip is merely 4 person

And its always iced chocolate for myself!

Meatball Marinara for myself too. Thought the portions look small and I was thinking to order a desert afterwhich, but it was actually quite filling when I polished my pasta and drinks off!

And a portion of Egg Benedict each for the girls

And, we next proceed to level 3 of the cafe:

There's an outdoor seating area and an indoor seating area at level 3

But fret not, theres a tent in the outdoor area which I'm glad as we don't have to deal directly with the sun

And we went back to the indoor (level3):

Brought a teddy to seat beside me. I know there's secretly a child that lives within me. But hey, never too old for teddy okay?

For some of the pictures, I grabbed them from SY who went round capturing the photos or from the net. Feeling lazy and tired on that day. So, till my next post? I should prolly be blogging about my trip to Bkk.

Greedy friend

What's the worst thing that could happen when you are having a holiday? Sick! That's the most disgusting thing ever. I knew I was falling sick when this week started but little did I expect it would be so tortuous on my body. Apparently, the pain for which I felt a couple of months ago strikes back again two days back. But it wasn't as serious that the first occurrence. And I really count myself lucky I was at home that moment in time. I was asked to see a doctor but I didn't as I really have no idea how to discuss the discomforts I was feeling to the doctor. Tummy aches, chest pain, feeling nauseous, giddy. Degree of pain? Mild? Sharp? Continuous? Kill me please! I really am clueless in describing how I feel. Anyway, that were what I suffered from but all these ceases a few hours later. Thus, I see no point in visiting a doctor when I feel okay. Oh well.

That's not the end. I contracted flu and sore throat the next day. That makes me feel miserable and weak. But then again, I have plans set during some of the days and I have no wish to cancel it. Thank goodness I didn't. I actually feel better heading out than coping at home (feeling weak, lazing on my bed). Though my body still feel weak. Earlier on, I just popped in a couple of panadols and I feel slightly better now. I know I needed rest badly. Haven't been sleeping much as insomnia is back to hunt on me again. I couldn't fall asleep by 3 am. And even if I would to sleep, I couldn't sleep soundly. I know I'm in a half asleep and half awake state, but I forced myself not to open my eyes. And I would wake up by 8+am? Gawd! Just what is happening to my body?! I tried, not to think too much, but I really had no control on my thoughts. Even when I'm out with my friends, my mind is still preoccupied. Patience peirong, that's what I told myself. Things are getting tough for him and the only thing I could do for him is to leave him as he is and not bother/create more problems for him.

That aside, I'm glad my appetite wasn't that poor. Met up with the ever #fickleminded friend of mine again and we combed through various places around Tanjong Pagar to have our lunch.

First up,

We shared Lobster panini and Grilled ribeye panini so we can each have a taste of each. And they taste fantastic! Though I had to admit, we splurge quite a fair bits on it. But its worth every penny in my opinion.

And after which, he told me he's craving for waffles so I brought him to a place where I think serves the best waffles:

Love this caramelized bananas waffle to bits!

And this friend of mine told me he want to try Tian Tian chicken rice, Gawd! So I brought him there, with the help of google map (haha):

That is my first time trying Tian Tian, and it really lives up to its name. The best chicken rice I have tasted thus far irrespective of the chicken, the rice, chilli sauce and the soup!

Truly a grow fat day whenever I head out with Mr Tan. No photo with him as he claimed he grew fatter #asvainasever. I have a night race this coming Saturday, I really hope my illness could be cure by then especially my flu! How am I suppose to run when my nose kept running like a tap? Crossing my fingers real hard*

My friends want me to be fat; La Villa

I should get ready for bed now but I'm so so so full! Uncomfortably full as I ate far too much today! So I received a text from Joffre early in the morning (lucky for him to be able to contact me as I woke up early today for dental, if not I'll be still in bed) and he wanted to meet me for a short lunch. So ya, met him for lunch since it's gonna be a short one  (and I met him twice in a row for lunch for the past 2 days). Oh well, a rare chance as he's having his exam break now and left his school in Queensland to do a short visit in Singapore before he's leaving for holidays. And its so freaking hard to communicate with this guy as doesn't have local number. We communicate by the wi-fi he has at home. So we had to pre-planned our meeting and state down the specific time and location. Which means, I couldn't be too late! What a caveman method to meet up.

Annoying guy who is so particular on the angle I place to capture a photo so that he looks slimmer! #Vainpot #Fickleminded #Fussy #Mafan

And he brought me to Suki-ya today for my birthday treat plus he's been craving for it! Killing two birds in one stone yea?

And we finishes 16 plates of meat! Plus lots of golden mushrooms etc. Is that alot? One thing for sure, we can't stop bickering on who should eat what's in the remaining in the pot as we were full. Childish, but ya. That's how we communicate. We just can't stop bickering when we meet.

And after the 2 hours lunch, I headed home to catch up to read through my books for a while. Yes, exam next week and I hardly start on proper studying yet. Plus, its only now that I realised my lecture notes are useless, there's no answer to my questions. Gawd! Guess that's where Google comes to use?!

So after which, I headed over to have dinner with Keith, another birthday treat. I guess that's the best gift guys gave to friends (haha, fuss-free, I suppose). This guy actually asked me to choose the dinner location regardless of any prices! Haha, gawd! But I chose to dine at La Villa in the end as firstly, the Italian food seems great, secondly, they are shifting/closing by the end of the year and lastly, I love the environment.

It was full house tonight, gawd! Lucky us for heading there without making a reservation. If not we would be seated at the al fresco dining area (the weather is humid enough today).

Starters: Assorted warm bread and mushroom soups (the 2 cups are actually a portion of 1, we asked it to be split into 2) White wine for me and red wine for the guy

Main: Funghi pizza

Main: Grilled meat platter (pax 1)

4 hours after my lunch, I had my dinner. And we split our shares of food equally. Thanks to these 2 particular guy friends of mine. Anyway, I cleared everything but left 1 and a half slices of pizza. Thanks for my beloved friends for trying to fatten me up! Ok, I'm having my exam break now and I've been pigging alot too due to that. Guess I exhausted too much of energy while 'studying'. I supposed this will increase my weight, hopefully at the right areas.

PasarBella- A Farmers' Market

Headed back to school today for lesson. I know, like Finally! But that was the first local lecture for that particular module. However, for my other module, I won't be seeing my lecturer till next month. Oops! Does that spell out how much I had been missing school? Till the extent I have no idea how he look like till I hand in my assignment? Anyway, its real tiring to pull myself up at 10+am, to prepare myself and after which I ran to catch my bus (all thanks to the bus app).

Sat in for 3 hours class and I headed off to meet up with Kai Lin after that. Its been such a long time since we headed out together! PasarBella at turf club was our pick to have our lunch at.

Organic products

Fresh oyster where you can order and eat straight away. But a pity, I'm not an oyster person

Beautiful flowers (fresh&artificial) which I was so tempted to grab them home. But they are so expensive! Its cost $20+ for a small bunch of artificial flowers

Wanted to get the plates too! But again too expensive!

Handmade postcards

Wide varieties of balloons

After walking 1 round, we finally settled on a stall for lunch

Mac & cheese, fries, a cup of passionfruit black tea. The above cost around $22.

And a tired looking me as I didn't manage to get enough/good sleep

And my date :)

And to finish our meal, we ended it off with a sweet note; sharing a cup of lychee martini ice-cream :)

Till the next visit. There are still a number of stalls that are empty as the place were taken over by a new team of management recently. Definitely a nice place to chill but getting in there might be a chore unless you drive as its located rather deep in. Or you could choose to take their shuttle bus located at newton, botantic garden or toa payoh mrt station. But we chose to head in by cab. Its much hassle-free. Plus both of us stay rather nearby.
